Bathroom Blogfest is shaping up for 2007
Last year, a small group of female bloggers took on the challenge of bathrooms and their role in the customer experience. We had so much fun that we decided to repeat it this year and invited more women to take part. We currently have 22 bloggers signed up to participate, including the blogger for the National Kitchen and Bath Association (Ed Pell)...
Bathroom Blogfest starts today!
In our country, we take good facilities for granted. But in other countries, public sanitation is still an evolving experience. In Kiev, Ukraine, the world's first toilet museum caught a visitor "using" one of the exhibits...
Bathroom Blogfest visits American Girl Place
It's Day Two of the 2007 Bathroom Blogfest and we're at American Girl Place in Chicago. This amazing retail experience, three floors' worth, is all about girls and their mothers. So it might not be a surprise that...
Bathroom Blogfest: Stall of shame
Today we're going to look at some less successful examples. The first is nothing new, a line for the ladies room at a touristy area in San Diego.
Thoughtful bathrooms
Today I'm sharing some great features I've seen on my travels this last year. This cool sink at O'Hare Airport in Chicago provides easy access for people using wheelchairs while looking (and being) designed in. Would that all universal design was so seamless...
Special touches and attention to detail
What makes a bathroom memorable? I've been thinking about that on my travels this year. Despite the raised eyebrows I get when taking photos in and around public bathrooms, I have found some nice details to share...
Oceanaire Restaurant serves up a swanky bathroom
Yes, the food was great at the Oceanaire Seafood Room. But it was their bathroom that won them the coveted "Best Bathroom Experience Award 2007" from Experienceology. Okay, so it's not coveted yet. But it should be.
The last word
We've done it... another great time in the ladies room. I'd like to thank all the bloggers (24 of us!) and others who picked up the blogfest and gave it their own swirl. It had some odd moments, like when White Cloud toilet tissue added a fake person to our Facebook group...

Wow, I wish I had known about the blogfest before today. I would have added more on my own keynote bathroom experience:

LoL nice, blog n movement for the bathrooms, great. keep the good work.
Your Bathroom Blogfest makes me more excited then it probably should. I love bathroom. Always have, always will. These wonderous tales you have layed before my eyes today remind me of my own bathroom story.
I was 11 years old and at summer camp in Casco, Maine. It was night and my cabin mates and I were winding down after a fantastic Mexican dinner. But indeed, it wouldn't be fantastic for long.
I was taking a shower in the cabin bathroom. Their is only one shower and one toliet and one sink. The only thing seperating the bathroom from the rest of the cabin was a doorway with no actual door.
So there me was in the shower, getting super clean. My friend, lets call him Doug, was taking a mighty fine poop not 8 feet away. We were talking about some sexy ladies when all of the sudden Doug screams, "Oh god, oh my god!"
It seems Doug had clogged the toliet with a wicked Mexican flavored poo. I peeked out from behind the curtain and saw the poop water overflowing, and it was going FAST.
The poop water went all over the floor and the rest of the cabin began making a towel dam to keep the poop from entering the sleping area. I was alone in the shower, naked, with only one towel. Doug ran, covered in poop, into the cabin, walking through the doody water. It was bad for him, but at least he had cloths on. I was stuck in the shower, no way to leave.
What was I to do? I could throw down my towel on the bathroom floor and use it as a lily pad to jump to safety. But if I did that I would have to do it naked, and if I were to fall it would be quite ugly for everyone involved.
As the poop water began to rise above the shower cubical floor, I knew it was time to make a decision.
"EVERYBODY CLOSE YOUR EYES!" I yelled.
Then I threw my towel in the middle of the doody filled floor and used it to jump to safety. No one closed their eyes, a few people laughed and pointed.
But it was over... and I was alive

Holy cow! (And hello!) I thought I had googled "bathroom clogged" when I arrived here at Bathroom Blog! How cool is that? What a great site you have. If you're curious about suburban life in London, Ontario check out our website "Left Foot In" at http://leftfootin.blogspot.com/
ps. I am a man in a house full of women who knows how the seat's supposed to work! Cheers, Philip
i love this. bathroom issues aren't quite as big where i'm from, but they should be.
just to point out an issue, i'm from a developing country and i've travelled to a lot of different countries (developed, undeveloped and third world). bathroom issues in a developed country like america is child's play.
please, please, please try to take this cause worldwide. bathroom hygiene is deplorable in so many countries, and in others, access to bathrooms (public or not) are dismal. there's so much that can be done and that you can do.
I think the most important part is design, it allows me to make my videos in style, seriously. :-)
Neat blog!
Very creative...
This is such a unique concept of blogging about bathrooms and I like the way you created extra pages for your site just to fit in everything for the concept. Thinking of creating extra pages for my blog as well.

Nice blog. I hate disgusting bathrooms. I had to use one last week that had no locks on the stall doors, and it smelled... putrid.
Check out my blog. (http://perledewilla.blogspot.com/)
I hate that I watched Discovery and learned how the toilet releases all that water contaminated ickiness to anything nearby like kleenex and toothbrushes.
nice blog
